Consider the difference between these two resume statements:

Duty-based statement:

  • Responsible for managing social media accounts and creating content.

Achievement-oriented statement:

  • Planned and published weekly content across three social media channels, using engagement data to refine content topics and the publishing schedule.

The first statement describes a responsibility. The second gives the employer a clearer picture of what the candidate actually did, how they approached the work, and how they used evidence to improve their contribution.
